Salesforce Signs Agreement to Acquire Evergage

Salesforce has kickstarted the 2020 acquisition spree by acquiring Evergage, a customer data platform company based out of Somerville, MA. The acquisition was completed on Feb 3rd 2020 and was confirmed by Karl Wirth ,CEO & Founder of Evergage on their official website.

“Given our shared commitment to customer success, joining Salesforce just makes sense. We’ll be able to do what we do better and at much greater scale and pace than we ever could before” – Karl Wirth.

Salesforce is yet to make the official announcement about this.

Evergage – Customer Data Platform

Founded in 2010, Evergage is the market leader in providing real-time personalization through their customer data platform. It aims to enable its users to build a single, comprehensive view of their customers and prospects and activate that data to deliver maximally relevant, personalized experiences in the moment across channels and at scale.

Evergage answers questions such as, Who are your customers? How do they engage? What is their Interest? What is their intent? Then allows you to deliver personalisable 1-1 customer experiences or communication.

Evergage has successfully delivered personalized experiences to more than 3 billion web visitors and users of over 250 organizations, including Citrix, Endurance International Group, Lenovo, Publishers Clearing House, Rue La La, Zumiez and more.

The Acquisition

Having been named as the market leaders for 2nd year in a row by Gartner, the Evergage acquisition is touted to strengthen Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities. It aims at improvising the campaign efficiency by increasing customer conversion by utilizing its customer behaviour tracking, segmentation, targeting & recommendations.  Its machine learning algorithm will supercharge customer personalization experiences across multiple channels. We would imagine because of the product similatiries, Evergage will further strengthen the Einstein platform on Marketing Cloud, as well as Interaction Studio (Thunderhead)

Salesforce has constantly added new capabilities to the platform offerings by these acquisitions in the past to continue being a global leader in CRM space and 2020 looks no different.
