At Gearset, we’re recreating the Dreamforce spirit as much as we can this year. We’ll be running demos, hosting events, and (of course) giving out lots of swag! But more importantly, Dreamforce also provides an opportunity for the Salesforce community to give back – and Dreamforce 2020 is no exception. Gearset is joining the Ohana in giving back to great causes in a difficult year.
Here’s what we’ll be doing, and how you can join in.
A donation for every deployment
For every 100 deployments run using Gearset during Dreamforce month, we’ll be donating $1 to charity until we reach our target of $5000. Our donation will go to Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief charity in the United States. Feeding America estimates that 50 million people may face hunger as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and we want to support its aim of ending hunger in communities across the country.
You’ll be able to track our progress towards the target here. And every deployment will count, whether by our current users or new users trialing Gearset for free.
Tackling hunger in our community
Food poverty is a problem around the world, and the pandemic has made the need for food banks even more acute. Over half of the people using our local food bank in Cambridge this year had never used a food bank before. As well as donating to Feeding America, Gearset will also be giving back to our local community here in Cambridge, UK. We’ll buy essential supplies to the value of £1000 and donate them in person to our local food banks.
How to help where you are
Many of us in the Salesforce ecosystem are fortunate to have jobs we love that pay the bills. Giving back is a great part of Dreamforce, and we encourage you to consider donating to your chosen charities during Dreamforce month.
If you’d like to help in the fight against hunger in your community, here’s how to find your local food bank and arrange to donate or volunteer.
